Kathy Wilcox did an outstanding job at organizing the Operation Christmas Child fill the boxes night.  Tables were set up and items on the table.  The tables were ready for different groups to begin to fill 'em up.

So many people were eager to help, just look at the pictures below:

Well, I must say, what a phenomenal weekend.

Introducing the All-Niters:

From left to right:  Danny Hadsock, Steve Crosby, David McDonald, Donnie "Snoozing" Harper, Eddie Harp, and Clint Johnson.

First, the BBQ Festival.  The men certainly know how to cook-up some ribs.  There were somewhere around 45-50 church members that came by to eat and fellowship, Friday night.  That was when I thought that I may sample just a bit.  Did not realize that it was going to be sooo finger-lickin' good, that made me want more.  YUM.

Saturday, was a continuation of Friday night.  Now, the guys entered in several of the BBQ Competition, but the best place was 12th place with the Boston Butt.  Way to go guys. And I must say that Donnie Harper can cook up some “mean” Chicken & Rice.  People were coming by the booth, just to get some.  Below is a picture of him getting his rest to do some serious cooking.

The guys were unable to slack off any, at all.  Cause Pam Betsill was there to make sure they were up and running.

Sunday night……………..WOW, did Dianne Hadsock, Patricia Anderson and Pam Betsill do a wonderful job with the Operation Christmas Child play.  Great organized program.  Tanetta Blanton did a great job on the art work for the props and April Keys did an outstanding job on the costumes.  Not mention the children that actually did the play.  A little (lot) of hard work really paid off.  Thanks guys for showing and telling others that you can give to Jesus by helping others in need.  Outstanding job.

Carver Chronicles is a new addition to the Carver Baptist Church's website.  This page will be updated weekly to give you the church news.  So visit often to see who's name will be mentioned.  And to learn of what went on the previous week and what will be happening in the upcoming weeks.

These past few weeks Sara Harper has worked non-stop in preparing fo rthe Fall Festival on Wednesday night the 28th.  It was a huge success.  All ages from babies to Senior Saints were there.  Everyone has a fabulous time.  Not sure how many were there, but if I had to guess, I would probably say a couple of hundred or so.  Everyone was so happy and full fo the Spirit, not to mention full of hot dogs and sausage dogs.

It was break time for these guys.  Notice on the end to the far right.  He really wanted a single portrait, but when I told him that my memory in my camera could not hold that, he settled for the group shot instead.  Dr. Kevin Murphy is such a great sport.

Moving on to other things...........Clint Johnson has been organizing the Carver Cooking Team for this years BBQ Festival in the City of Douglas.  Come and join our Carver Family for some scrumptuous food.  It will take place Friday and Saturday, October 30th & 31st.  At least stop by and that you saw it here.

Lets not forget our kids.............Diane Hadsock, along with Patricia Anderson, Pam Betsill and many others have been working diligently on the Operation Christmas Child play.  The children have been so devoted in coming to practice and it is really paying off.  The play is Sunday evening at 6:00pm in the Family Life Center at Carver.  Carver invites you to join them in this magnificent play.  Mention you saw it here.  We would love to hear your thoughts, so please sign our guestbook.

Come back next week to hear how these two event turned out.  Also, see whats coming up.  Oh yeah, have I mentioned that we'd love to hear from ya?  Well, sign the guestbook then.   :)
